Affenberg Salem

The main attraction of Affenberg Salem (Germany, near Lake Bodensee) are more than 200 Barbary Macaques. They live freely within a forest area of 20 hectares. A footpath guides the visitors through the monkeys' home range. You can meet the animals from eye to eye, without any physical barriers. Specially prepared popcorn is distributed and can be fed to the monkeys. 
The park has proved to be an ideal field for behavioural studies.  Entire groups habe been reintroduced to their native homelands in North Africa.
