Open-Air Museum Ballenberg

The Ballenberg Open-Air Museum is located in the heart of Switzerland, near Brienz in the Bernese Oberland. The hilly and wooded museum grounds are surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.
With almost 100 original century-old buildings from all over Switzerland, "historic" gardens and fields, demonstrations of typical crafts, many special events and 250 native farmyard animals, Ballenberg creates a vivid impression of rural life in bygone days. The museum attracts around 250,000 visitors each year and is an ideal family excursion. Visitors from India, the Gulf States and Asia find the history-laden buildings especially fascinating.
