Mother Nature never fails to fascinate us with her myriad of marvellous
shapes and figures. Everywhere we look, in spring, summer, autumn or winter,
we can feast our eyes on intricate, delicate detail. Many of us have no idea
of the name of the tree or plant on which the leaf, twig or bud is growing
and probably equally as many would not be able to store so many names for
long. There are naturally countless books on the subject to which the keen
plant lover can turn to create his own list of plants spotted. But most of
us are satisfied by being able to encounter and wonder at the countless
forms that surround us as we spend time in our gardens, stroll through parks
in our hometown or perhaps explore further afield in botanical gardens and
exotic holiday locations. One thing is certain: we are surrounded by amazing
works of natural art. Even the nasty nettle has a charm all its own!
