| Origami is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, which actually originated in China and reached Japan in about the sixth century AD. Ori means folding and kami means paper and the aim is to create intricate designs using geometric folds without the need for cutting or gluing. The designs usually start with a square sheet of paper, sometimes with each side having a different colour. Various origami societies exist in the UK and USA. |
