| The Patrouille Suisse has been the official jet aerobatic team of the Swiss Air Force
since its formation in 1964 and is also the visiting card of the Swiss Armed Forces at home and
abroad. All the members of the Patrouille Suisse are professional military pilots from the Surveillance wing or air traffic controller from skyguide and train together during the airshow season
only. In 1997, the last Hunter Mk 58 has been exempted from military service and so
the Patrouille Suisse had to look after a new plane. They found it with the Northrop F-5E Tiger II. |
