|
Stierenmarkt, Bull Market, in Zug, Switzerland. In 1887, a Cattle Breeding Cooperative was founded in Switzerland. On 7 February 1897, this amalgamated with the Association of Brown Swiss Cattle. As early as autumn of the same year, the First Central Breeding Bull Show, and therefore the first Bull Market in Zug took place. The motto for the years 1897 to 1925 was "uniformity of the breed". From 1925 until 1963, emphasis was mainly on an animal's exterior and performance, whilst the years from 1960 to the present day have been characterized by the development of the commercially economic cow, whereby significant progress was made by the crossbreeding of Brown Swiss Cattle. |
